Robot Welding Cells

Ionix Robot Welding Cells are suitable for automation of different welding methods, such as MIG/MAG welding, TIG welding, arc brazing, laser welding or hybrid laser welding.

The core of a robotic welding cell is an industrial robot whose robotic arm moves the welding torch along a pre-programmed track often by utilizing a seam tracking feature. In addition to the robotic arm, the robot often includes one or two linear axes (on the floor or in a portal frame) and a workpiece positioner that can numerically change the position of the workpiece during welding. The controls of all the functions of a robotic welding cell are typically carried out by the control system of the industrial robot with the required number of external actuators and sensors connected.

Components of the Ionix Robot Welding Cell are selected according to the requirements set by the application and the customer. Examples of industrial robot manufacturers are ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa, and Fanuc.
