Arc Brazing

ARC BRAZING (MIG brazing) resembles MIG/MAG welding quite much. The difference to MIG/MAG welding is that the filler material in arc brazing has a considerably lower melting point compared to the base material. in arc brazing the arc is formed between the filler wire tip and the workpiece, as in MIG/MAG welding, but the arc melts only the filler material an the temperature of the base materialadoes not reach the melting point. The molten filler material penetrates into the joint gaps and wets the joint surfaces. As the filler material solidifies it forms a joint between the connected parts. Therefore it is actually not a welding process but a soldering process.
