Plasma Welding

PLASMA WELDING is a gas arc welding process in which an electric arc burns between the electrode (typically made of tungsten) and the workpiece. In this respect plasma welding resembles TIG welding. However, in plasma welding the arc is constricted by a cooled gas nozzle and due to the higher energy density (about 10 times higher compared to TIG welding) the arc can penetrate the material and form a so-called keyhole.
